Lecture: A Skeleton Key to Baudrillard's Simulacra and Simulation (1981) by Prof Dan Krier

Spring 2020 Contemporary Sociological Theory video recorded in the wake of Covid 19. This video describes how Lacan's writings provide a skeleton key to Baudrillard. Lacan theorized the social and psychic imaginary as always and everywhere preceded by the "real" that it represents, while Baudrillard argues that we have entered a new era in which the social and psychic imaginary are determined by symbolic-codings devoid of real referent. Part 1 of 2. Dan Krier
